Using a visual metaphor of pain and hurting others in quite a graphic way, additional to this they use a natural landscape background. In the foreground is an etched style drawing of a man looking afflicted or worried almost, whilst a shower of sharp kites rains around him. This image is very powerful and also gives an insight to the song. This artwork is from the single album from Noah Kahan, Hurt Somebody. Noah Kahan, Julia Michaels – Hurt Somebody (Audio).) Additional to this they have this simple line pattern in the centre which gives off a fluid texture, against the block colours it creates these very bold single images that work really well as a series. On the cover there is 3 images contrasting against each other in the primary colours. Using simple watery yet controlled ink lettering, they also use capitalised letters to make a more bold impact. I chose this piece for the minimalistic approach to album covers, as well, they use a lot of hand lettering in their works. This is an single album cover by Sir Sly & Run (F.Klay Remix). As the lettering is in black and surrounded by vibrant colours it makes more of an impression than if it was coloured. The lettering style chosen is bold and capitalised to draw you in, even for how its branched around the central image to the right leading you around the image. The entwining disarray of the tube like line to make the impression of a skull, with sections being chosen to have colour or texture to add a more random approach to the sections. This is one of my favourite album covers, mostly due to the bold colours and interesting central imagery. This striking image is from Cage the Elephant on their first album. Even the shadows of the figures give form and tone to the piece, as well as the scratchy imperfect background gives the artwork depth. The closer you look the more interesting the piece became. They are all doing different activities have different postures and are unique from one another. Although once you take a closer look it is actually small figures all gathered together. I chose this additional image as from a glance this is just a basic bold pointillism style portrait. This image is another from Tom Walker, from his most recent album What a Time to be Alive.

The size of the text differs in each section to blend the text and colours together. However, as I looked further I noticed how they had used layering of text to generate the image and give it a really interesting texture. From first glance this image is a sketch drawing of a house, with the lettering leaving from the window with the yellow tone symbolising light. I chose this for the use of hand lettering to generate an image whilst also manipulating the colours to differentiate between objects. This image is from Tom Walkers single cover, Leave a Light on.
